SHOULD GUNS BE IN SCHOOLS?
Rep. Larry Pittman (R-Concord) has co-sponsored House Bill 216, legislation that aims to allow teachers and school staff to take guns into school. School shootings and gun violence are serious issues that deserve strong and effective solutions: guns in school are not the answer. Teachers already work long hours for relatively little pay, and many school districts have dismissed the idea as simply impractical. Our educators should be allowed to focus on educating, and not be forced to assume the job of armed security guard.
